B-Scan Ultrasound is an ophthalmic diagnostic imaging device used to produce two-dimensional images of the eye and surrounding structures using high-frequency ultrasound waves. It is particularly useful when the retina or other internal eye structures cannot be clearly examined through conventional methods, such as in cases of cataracts, vitreous hemorrhage, or other media opacities. B-Scan ultrasound helps eye-care professionals assess the posterior segment of the eye, detect structural abnormalities, and support diagnosis and treatment planning.
